are two different systems used for fluorescent lights. The old system
operates at 60 Hz which means that it does flicker at 120 Hz. Newer and FAR
better systems flicker at something close to 20,000 Hz. The result is almost
solid lighting as well as more economical energy usage. The newer systems
are more expensive but well worth the cost.
