Hi-tech vs. lo-tech

In Digest 1819, Eric Drysdale writes:

...When we tuned in last time, a badly wired flash on my
Nimslo sent a bolt of painful electricity through my entire body, and
through the camera
itself. Bob Weir said that the 1000+ volts should have fried the
electronics, but I'm happy to say that reports of my Nimslo's death are
greatly exaggerated. A test roll came out fine, and I got used to
advancing
the film with oven mitts on pretty quickly.

Sheesh!
These stories of jolting flashes are scaring the bejeezus out of me!
I'm gonna stick to using those 25Bs that I recently got!
No wires, no hot shoes, no filing down of that cute little bump!

Bye, gang!
