Hi friends,

Re: Georges 'copyright' note in recent edition.  Whilst I agree with
everything he says,  I have to point out that  -  in Europe,  and
specifically within the European Union  -  copyright now subsists for 70
years after the death of the author.  Failure to 'defend' that right
will not put it in the public domain!

Fortunately for those wanting to copy small sections of old books, or
particularly instructions (and I can't imagine anyone going to court
over instructions) very few people worry about the above rulings!

However, in the music business I have known of instances where
infringement of copyright (by a Nursery School playing 'pop' music to
the under fives) has resulting in a hefty fine and confiscation of hte
equipment.   Q.E.D.
