Problem With Fine Vertical Lines In Slides

I recently had two rolls of Velvia 50 slide film developed, which had one or
two extremely fine vertical lines in each slide.  These lines start at the
sprocket holes and go thru most of the slide.....but seem to vary in length.
 Has anyone else experienced this problem.  The rolls were shot with two
different and perfectly OK Stereo Vivids which have shot other rolls of film
just fine.  Help!
