re: panoramic 3D?

Thanks Gabriel for bringing up this very unusual panoramic 3d slide
format known as "Prism Stereo" and manufactured by Tri-Delta (sounds
like 3-D!) Engineering. Come to think about it, this Prism Stereo
system is the slide equivalent to the View Magic print system. One
disadvantage of both systems is that they are very dependent on the
viewing hardware to see the results. All conventional viewing
methods (including freeviewing) fail to view these over/under pictures.

There has been a lot of discussion in previous digests on the "Prism
Stereo". I also noticed an article on the October 1996 issue of
"The Stereoscopic Society Journal" written by Eddie Butt, titled
"Beam Splitter with a Difference". In it, Eddie discusses how he
made his own prism attachment (to use with prints BTW) because he
could not locate a "Prism Stereo" device. Worth reading for those
interested in this format.

The unit that I had for sale is sold. I never tried it (too busy
with the "Realist-format") but I understand that the same unit that
takes the pictures can attach to an ordinary projector and project
the same slides to be viewed in stereo. Sounds great but you need
to keep in mind that, once you decide to work in this format, your
results will only be viewed by those equipped to handle this format.
Since all my work has been in the standard Realist format and since
I enjoy participating in many group activities that use this format,
I am reluctant to invest time exploring an incompatible system.
