Realist lenses

By the way, who did make the 2.8 and 3.5 Realist lenses. I realize that they
are marked "David White Anastigmat", but did the David White Company
actually make the lenses or were they made for the David White Company by
some large lens manufacturer such as, dare I say, Steinheil? For a while the
Ilex Optical Company of Rochester, NY made 3.5 lenses for the Realist
(paragon?); this name was also given to view camera lenses that are of the
tessar design and so is somewhat confusing. I am interested in lenses and
lens design history and would appreciate any information that anyone has
regarding the manufacturer(s) of both the Realist 2.8 and 3.5 lenses.
