For what it's worth, the Compco 500 projector was called "very modern
and compact in design (thanks partially to the use of smaller and
newer CZA lamps with proximity reflectors)" in the Feb. 1980 issue of
Reel-3D News.

Perhaps it's being compared to Compco's Triad (which I have) projector?
The picture I'm looking at *looks* more compact, but pictures can be
deceiving.

It's interesting that it says that the lamps are electrically turned
off and on during slide changes.
