High/low observation point

As a side note to the discussion of pseudo-stereo, I used to believe that
by lowering the angle of view and thus removing monocular cues I would
generate more effective stereo pictures.

I experimented with this idea and concluded that it does not work! As a
rule, stereo works much better when there are plenty of monocular cues
supporting stereopsis.

Lowering the view point increases discontinuities in depth and can result
in cardboarding if there are big space gaps between objects.

Now I usually try to get a higher view point and include plenty of
foreground to give a smooth continuous depth variation.

Of course, like in every other "rule" there are fine exceptions. So,
please, don't pick up these fine exceptions where the lower view point
works great to disprove the trend!
