Well, again I may be wrong.  What is the concensus, will ground glass work?

What are the physical properties of the original surface?  Wasn't it just a smooth
translucent coating, as apposed to the microscopically rough surface of Ground Glass.
Perhaps one could try a piece of frosted tape, and see if that works.
