I can't speak much for Houston. I am sure there are many 3D oportunities
there. It's a big city with much going on. But, there is the island city of
Galveston just 50 miles away. I can think of several oportunities there.
First, there is the Moody Gardens which is a verrry large greenhouse with
lots of tropical vegitation.Immediently adjacent to it is an Imax 3D
theater. I have no idea what they are showing currently but here's your
chance to check it out.
A short distance away is the Lone Star Aviation Museum. Vintage WWII
aircraft as well as some more modern ones. It is entirely enclosed and the
lighting is all mercury (green on most film) but it offers some opportunity.
In downtown Galveston there is a railroad museum that has some very
interesting possibilities. It has a reconstuction of a train station c.
1900, I belive. It has statues of people actually cast in plaster from real
people in various poses around the station. Sitting, standing and so on.
They are all in white and it makes for a very earie and disconcerting
feeling. You can sit next to one and expect it to start speaking to you. The
trains are nice too.
Also, beaches, board walks and peers.
March should be a good month to visit. Not too warm yet. Maybe even a little
chilly in the evenings.
Hope you enjoy.
