Subject: Custum 3Discover Cassettes?
Date: Thu, 06 Feb
I'm a newbie that has been lurking in the shadows..observing...waiting
(I even began to read all the digests in order so that I would never
start a thread that had been exausted). Now I've OUTED myself with that
last VM cutter message...AAAgony.
Every wedding I go to I take viewmaster photos and give the resulting
reels to the couple. I enjoy the reel formats ability to tell a story
in 7 pictures. Of course everyone always states how much more enjoyable
they are than the pros flat photos (In 30 years their children will get
an eyeful). Of course the format is small.
Now comes the 3Discover which has an 35 mm 8-perf format and a
motorized advance. Sounds fun. I don't want thier photos, I want my
photos in those cassettes! Has anyone taken apart a cassette, or are
they glued? Anything magical about the spacing of the frames on the film
strip? Any special MARKS on the film to allow the computer chip to line
up the frame correctly? Any chance of the system being stuffed with
more than twelve views? I am going to E-mail the makers myself but I
understand that they are not the most responsive. Maybe they will sell
bulk empty cassettes?
