Re: Medium Format 3d (Sputnik viewing; tri-lens reflex; 8-perf FED?)

Speaking of the Sputnik, has anyone tried replacing the viewing lens etc.
with one that has aperture control and a ground glass, to allow full image
depth-of-field preview -- obviously quite important for 3D?
I have a Horseman 2x3 reflex viewer (like a prism, but containing ground
glass and mirror) for a Graflex XLRF. If I had three matching lenses,
I could (in theory :-) build a "tri-lens" reflex stereo camera... Has
anyone done something like that or know of someone who has?
My other "dream" stereo camera is something like the FED but modified to
advance 8 perforations per frame instead of 7 (but keeping the lens spacing
at 7 perforations!). The left edge of the left frame, and the right edge
of the right frame, would be wasted -- but film's cheap. I suggested this
idea last year, as it would allow standard film processing for both prints
and slides. Can anyone think of a way to do this to a conventional stereo
camera?
Someone please make my day :-)
