Dual SLR photography

I just had a thought.  Some of the newer SLRs have infrared remote 
controls which allow the photographer to snap a photo from a remote 
location.  Would two like SLRs w/ infrared remote synch well enough when 
using the remote to fire them?  I've used this technique to "un-pause" 
both my VCRs when copying from one to another.  Has anyone tried anything 
like this?  Does anyone have an SLR with i/r remote?
