Da li quidation of the Stereoil Process
Stereoview & Stereoil paintings & drawings by Michael Kupka=20
Inaugural Exhibition=20
presented by CyberLicious DotCom Gourmet Pizza and Fine Ontario Wines
by Kittling Ridge

If you enjoy fine art, the Internet, gourmet pizza, & fine wine, join us
for the Inauguration of the DotCom Caf=E9 Fine Art Exhibitions, February
21, 7-10 pm. Now showing are many works by Toronto artist Michael Kupka
from his Binary Conceptual series of oil paintings: the Stereoil
Process. In 1973, when the series began, there were no home computers.
Using the technology of the day he showed how stereoview images (left &
right) contained binary information and it how it could be seen by their
superimposition. A moir=E9 pattern was created by disparities and
anomalies of seeing and painting with "both eyes". In 1973 France was
splitting atoms in the South Pacific; he was splitting images in two and
then recombining them into 3-D. Having studied Dali's "Fifty Secrets of
Magic Craftsmanship", it seemed like a logical extension of classical
art, even if it was PoP, cybernetics, mathematics and physiology.
Stereoview paintings will be shown in reflecting stereoscopes (1832)
which allows one to see the original paintings in 3-D. They were last
seen like this at the Boston Museum of Science, and Museum of
Holography, NYC.
