Dr. T's expo awards!!!

I would like to present the Dr. T Expo II awards for Realist-format slides.
(For new photo-3d members, expo is a collection of stereo images by
photo-3d members, organized by Joel Alpers and circulating among
participants).

I enjoyed all formats but will like to present awards to the Realist format
slides only because I am more experienced and qualified to judge this
format.

Here we go:

The top price, "Excellence in Good-to-Honest Realist photography" (good
plain, no special effects Realist photography) award is shared by Tim
Maffia and Ken Luker. Tim also wins the "Picture that impressed Dr. T the
most" award for his self-portrait and the "Dr. T wants to buy your Kodak"
award. Ken had excellent entries with "Corral Skull Valley" and "Field in
Farmington".

Other awards:

"Most Wild Self-Portrait" to Mark Chapman for "The Master In His Harem"

"Simple Portrait Award" goes to Greg Dinkins for "Donna in the Window".

Best "Picture of a dog" goes to Ron Fross for "Shep" (Allan Carrano came
second in this category with his "Katie"). Also Ron wins the Best
"Portrait of a School-age boy" for "Bookmobile kid".

Best "Cave Stereo Photography" goes to David (don't call me doctor) Kesner.

Best "Newbie with room for improvement" goes to Keith Wilson.

Best "Aerial Hyperstereo" goes to John Weiler for his "Colorado Rockies".

Best "Infant Photography" to Greg Erker for "Big Girl Emily"

Best "I am using my grandfather's camera...and film too" to Mike Zohn.

"Best picture with worse camera" award goes to ken Luker for "Kathryn",
taken with a Delta Stereo.

"Best Wild Alaska" to David Worrell.

"Best Dead Animal" goes (hands down) to Chris Helms for his "fresh subject"
that everybody hated ("Gruesome!") but could not stop looking at.

"Best Fisheye 3D" to J. Bert Noel for his "Different Perspective". (Yes, I
want to try that too!)

"Best Slide Sandwich" goes to Elliott Swanson for "View from the
Dreamtime".

"Best Brooklyn Bridge" to Eric Drysdale for the one with the least amount
of light leak.

"Best Realist Macro" goes to Dave Huddle for "Toad of my finger". Same
photographer wins the "Best close up of my eye with my contact on" award.

"Best Reflection" to Ron Doerfler for "Window Shopping".

"Best Pattern" to Eddie Hosey for "Star of David".

"Best Window in the Rocks" to Morris Keesan for "OBS-BINNENSTAD".

"Best EXPO-sed" to Mark Chapman. Same photographer also wins the "Where is
the model hiding?" award for his "Ancient Reflections"

"Best Red" to Martin Schub for "Study in Scarlet"

"Best Portrait of Clinton" to Bruce Rosenberger. Same photographer also
wins "Study of Sizes" HM for "Boy and Machine".

"Best Mild Hypostereo" to Ray Hannisian who also wins the "Best Animal
Study" for "Wild Burro".

"I don't Get it" award goes to Steve Westerlund for his "Tall One".

Best "Mom I shrunk the photographer a.k.a. Monster Cat" goes to Melody
Buchanan. Same photographer wins the "Here is why you need a Nimslo"
award.

Best "Portrait of a Building" goes to Dr. T. (I have to give something to
myself too!)

"Best Flower Close-up" to Lauren Michaels for "3-D Poinsettia".

"Best Portrait of an Old Lady" to LeRoy Barco for "The Turtle Lady".

Finally, a very important award for "Best Expo Reviewer" goes to Chris
Helms. He is the only person who wrote a comment to EVERY SINGLE EXPO
ENTRY!!!, an amazing feast. His comments range from "OK" to "Too dark for
me" to weird stuff, like the one he wrote for a slide that had somehow
excessive grain: "Good Grain, Good Meat, Good Lord, Let's Eat!" Chris, you
have to come back to photo-3d. We need your sense of humor!!!

Thank you!!! -- George Themelis

PS. I have omitted a few smilies for brevity. Sorry if I forgot your name
but rest assured that I enjoyed your work.
