About Medium Format:

I agree with Victor Varela in Photo3D#1885 (Hola, Victor), Gabriel and
others 3d colleagues: when I want the best stereo depth, sharpness and
clarity I work with MF. I work, years ago, frequently with two SLR 35 mm.
coupled, also with a slide-bar and a beam-splitter, and occasionally with
two 6x6 cameras coupled. The quality is good, but when I get stereos with MF
is incomparable, because the larger the image frame, better the quality. I
have a test comparison with 35mm and 6x6 and the depth quality is
spectacular. The amount of information of a 6x6 stereo pair is greater than
other little formats, and this is a stereo quality factor, because the brain
receive more information than a full 24x36mm frame (compare the academic
format 4 perforations with a 70x50mm. 15 perforations IMAX format frame in
movies, ten times bigger than a 35mm frame, with 10 times more information,
and the stunnings results in IMAX-3D and SOLIDO...).

By course, MF is more expensive than 35mm. I work with 35mm. because I
project my slides with standard projectors and PL filters and the 6x6
projectors are very expensives. Also, I transfer my best stereos to Photo CD
to make interlaced 3d images in a computer and see with LCS glasses, and
35mm is sufficient. All is more expensive if I work with MF. But I want to
work with MF because I like the best quality and the best stereo effect.=20

I try to make a good MF viewer, but by now I don't think in MF projection
(Can be later...).

About a stereo camera definition, I think also we can say "do stereo
photography" (Bob Howard, P3D#1891), and I can get stereos by many ways (one
camera, two cameras, a beam-splitter, a stereo-camera). If the result is a
good stereo-pair, then this is my last purpose.

A question:
Anyone has experience working with two cameras and a half-mirror beam=
 splitter?
I try to design a 3D rig with a half-mirror.

Alfredo.
