Shutterbug

In the March issue of Shutter bug, Darryl Nicholas writes about
doing E6 processing at home. A main concern was getting good color
rendition from roll to roll of film. He invites people to write him
but, instead, I Emailed the editor Bob Shell at:
                    76750.2717.compuserve.com
Be carefulk. If you see the Email address in the magazine, it has
commas instead of the period.

Yesterday, I had an Email reply from Darryl
(colorbat@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx). In response to my question where I
can get E6 chemicals, he told me Unicolor, Beseler, Jobo offer E6
besides Kodak and they have one liter kits available. How many rolls
can I do with one liter?? I can get Ektachrome processed here on
campus for $3 per roll. I do not know the timing. They are taking
three weeks to get a roll of Kodachrome back.

I also sent the following to Bob:

"Have you thought of doing anything on 3-D??? A lot of folks are
into this and there are clubs all over. I belong to the Chicago
Club. There is a lot of stuff on computers now. I realize that most
equipment is old and used but new equipment is being made, but on a
limited basis. I realize there are 3-D publications but since most
of us go to Shutterbug for buying info, perhaps you could do a story
on 3-D and see what happens."

To which I got this reply from Darryl:

"Very few people are even remotely interested!!! But I'm one of them!
Still, I'm not sure what kind of an article I could do for
SHUTTERBUG... it's such a vast field. As a computer hacker, I'd
think I'd be most interested in doing something relating to
computers....???

I'll give it some thought...let me know is you have any suggestions."

I am sure people on this net will have suggestions---won't we??

I think even an article on "general" 3-D photography might stimulate
new people to enter the field. I am here because of the one-pager in
the September issue of Popular Photography on stereo photography. I
got the catalog from Reel 3-D, got a couple small books on stereo
photography and, as they say, the rest is history.

Let's give Darryl some ideas!!!!!
