Yeah... I do that too and sometimes it works... ;)

But, in your case, there is a slight problem.  For pure photogrammetric work
I would recommend larger stereo base to exaggerage parallax and make it
easier to measure.  For pure fun, I would recommend smaller stereo base
which leads to reduced parallax and a more pleasing visual image.  You have
to choose between being a scientist or an artist... but I guess nothing
stops you from taking more stereo pairs...
