More 3D movies in Perth

Finally after a drought of nearly two years there are some 3D movies
screening in Perth, Western Australia.

Creature from the Black Lagoon will be screening 7:30pm March 22
at Beatty Park Aquatic Centre - presumably in Anaglyph format.

Here's the text from the ad which is quite a bit of fun in itself:

> YOU'LL BE AMAZED! YOU'LL BE HORRIFIED! YOU'LL BE WET!
> heated pool! swin 'n' grin!
> float and freak! super sized monster inflatables!
> ... and on the BIG SCREEN ...
> the RTR 92.1FM 3D Creature Feature DIVE-IN MOVIE [yes, DIVE!]
> CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON
> @ Beatty Park Leisure Centre, Vincent Street, North Perth
> Saturday March 22 @ 7:30pm
> ALL AGES WELCOME ... bring your cozzies, trunks and inflatables ...
> olympic seating and grassed areas for non-swimming woosies ... tickets
> from Mills, 78s, House of Wax, Beatty Park and RTR-FM >>> A$12 general
> admission, A$10 RTR-FM subscribers, A$8 children under 15

"Jaws 3" and "Flesh for Frankenstein" will be screened in 3D at Encore
Cinemas (in former Lumiere Cinema) this long weekend and possibly next
weekend.
Jaws and Frankenstein will be polarised projected. Tickets are only A$5!
Last weekend they screened Creature from the Black Lagoon and It Came from Outer
Space in Anaglyph format.

In another bit of interesting advertising, Underwater World (in Perth)
is advertising "See Jaws in 3D" ... "If you want the ultimate close encounter,
we feed the sharks at 11am and 2pm every day..." They are obviously trying
to compete and cash in on the 3D craze at the moment.

Andrew Woods.

p.s. Just in case the above slang words are Australianisms:
cozzies & trunks = swimming costumes, bathers, ...
     woosies = wimps

p.p.s. I've just come back from the Stereoscopic Displays and Applications
Conference in San Jose, California. Sometime soon I'll be posting
a summary/review of the conference and putting a collection of
photos on my web site. Stay Tuned!
