Hi,
AMAZING 3-D.
$13.95 (PB & HB) ISBN 0-316-58283-2 (PB) 0-316-58284-0 (HB).
By Hal Morgan and Dan Symmes. Traces the development of 3D Gum Cards,
Photos, Movies & Comics with a particular emphasis on the renaissance
of 3D in the 1950's. Anaglyph illustrations & a pair of glasses
included. Little, Brown and Company, Boston, 1982. 176 Pages.
This book was the start of my "grown-up" 3D-interest. As a child I did have
a VM, off course (especially being Belgian ;-)). But when I came across the
book at W.H.SMITH somewhere around 1983, it started my interest in taking 3D
pictures myself.
Thank you Mr. Morgan and Mr Symmes for showing me the way to a wonderfull
hobby.
Like many more people on this list I'd welcome a book on the story of the
50-ties 3D-photography boom, the camera's, the designers, and the companies
that produced them. In the "AMAZING 3D" book there only room for three or
four pages to cover this, since the whole area of 3D is covered from comics
to movies.
Patrick.
