Re: 3-D in NYC

The IMAX at lincoln square has introduced a new 2-D feature that's taking
screen time away from L5, the First City in Space, but this is still
playing regularly enough that if you're here for a week you'll definitely
catch it. Two of the other IMAX 3D films are often in rotation too, if you
have your days free, sometimes you'll see Into the Deep, or Across the Sea
of Time.

The Warner Brothers Store has the Marvin the Martian, which is fun and has
some very interesting effects, using computer graphics to create 3D
versions of 2D characters while retaining the style of the 2D films. It's
a bit noisy and has several in-your-face (literally) effects that are just
show-offy. However for 2 bucks, (free if you buy something in the store)
they'll let you sit in the theatre and watch it as many times as you want.

There's also something called the 3D cinema ride, which I'd advise everyone
to avoid at all costs.

Otherwise, the entire city is in 3D, enjoy!
