To take this logic to it's natural end, I think we should no longer 
refer to the realist as a $100-$150 camera. ;) ;)

Exactly where some people are, and that is OK... As you say later, 
tastes (etc.) can mold your needs to the point that you might need a 
better camera. For some that might mean a journey thru a variety of 
cameras. (For me it has been: cheap 35mm pair,  disposable 35mm pair, 
good (but no the best) 35mm pair, Rittai Lenticular, Nimslo Lenticular, 
Nishika Lenticular, Sputnik Stereo, Realist Stereo, Image Tech 
Disposable Lenticular, Image Tech Lenticular.) Eventually, you find 
what you like, and you settle (at least for a while). That is Natural. 
I for one am glad I tried the "$25" Nishika. I have a better 
perspective  for it, and a few good pairs of my dog when she was still 
just a young pup.

Enough for now... I am sure I am filling half a digest today... =)
