Alaska 3-D

I just returned from spending a few weeks in Alaska. While I was there,
I spotted a video tape called "Alaska 3-D." It seemed like something
not to be passed up - I probably should have done so.

When I saw the included glasses, I thought the technology was a combination
of anaglyph and pulfrich since the lenses were tinted red-ish and
green-ish in addition to having different transmissivity (is that a word?)

It turned out to be plain old "pain-in-one-eye" pulfrich.

But another reason the tape was a dissapointment is that the content was,
dare I say "abysmal?" Pulfrich effect is a novelty but bad material
is just poor work. The combination is not synergistic.

I can't help but think that material like this gives ALL 3-D a bad name.

If you'd like to order this tape for yourself, you can do so by calling
SkyRiver Films (800) 248-WILD

I include the following disclaimer:

I have no interest in this tape - economically or otherwise.

3-D can be really neat. Too bad some of it is not.
