In the case described, my tool of choice would have been a stereo camera
with a motor drive, but, alas, I did not have one! :(

The experimental shot in question was to be more than just a hyper
stereo, as recently discussed. The objective was to determine if both
near and far depth could be reconstructed in a single mounted stereo
slide, using a [true/dedicated/other adjective of your choice] stereo
camera. There was also a 2nd part to the experiment. Perhaps a diagram
would be appropriate:

Direction of aircraft movement:   --------->
                           A B
                        ------- -------
Images as taken: (iT) L1 R1 L2 R2
Images as viewed:(iV) L1 R2 R1 L2

Images taken looking out the window on the left side of the aircraft.

iT in column A is the 1st stereo camera shot; iT in column B is the 2nd.
The pairs would then intentionally be mixed in mounting as shown in iV.
iV in column A represents the "near and far depth" topic recently
discussed. What would be the effect of iV in column B? Pseudo foreground
and hyper-stereo background? I'd like to hear what Larry thinks of this.

(Yes the above could also be done with four SLR shots and two cha-cha
movements--one the reverse direction of the other--but two shots with a
stereo camera is a better choice for the described experiment, IMO.)

Take a wider variety of stereo pictures, George! You'll find an example
one of these days! ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)
