painted projection screen?

I read in the archives that it's _possible_ to make a functional stereo 
projection screen by painting special paint on a flat surface.  Paint 
that doesn't randomize the projected polarization.

Question:  has anyone on the list actually _done_ this?  What  paint did 
you use?  With what results?
