Re: Tabletops

>I'm not sure I understand what "Tabletops" are.

Tabletops are pictures of objects that are sitting at the top of a table.

OK, it does not have to be a table. It can be the floor if that's more
convenient. Basically these are pictures of objects that occupy a small
area (a couple of square feet at most). Usually "still life" inside your
house.

Some examples of table-tops: Flowers, a bowl of fruits, small figures
doing funny things, dolls, glassware, etc.

What is not a table-top: A picture of your cat or your first born, a
scenic, nature, outdoors, people, large objects clearly outside your house.

The ideal tool for tabletops is a single SLR with a macro lens. Since you
are shooting still life inside your house you do not have to worry about
things moving. A macro lens will let you focus close (regular lens with
close-up lenses is another choice). A slide bar will give you the small
translation that is needed.
