cheapo equiptment

Yesterday I finally found a piece of photo equiptment I had been looking for
for quite some time.  I wanted to get reflector to use for fill lighting,
but the size I wanted would cost around $100!  I looked for a folding
sunshade for cars, and finally found one at a store called pic&save.  It was
only $4!  It is huge, and is made of some kind of metal cloth.  It
illuminated the test area I tried it on by more than 2 stops in direct sun
light!  On the back it is white, and did not reflect as much light, but it
was a much softer light.  It all folds up due to its wire around the edges,
to a small circle.
