Has anyone noticed that the 3D-Discover cartrige is yet another 35mm stereo
format? It is what I call 9-3-9. Below is a complete list of 10 to date:
Camera Perfs Advance in perf
beam splitter 4-4 8
Image tech 4-4-4 12
Nimslo/Nishika 4-4-4-4 17
Realist 5-5-5-5 10
Realist 7perf 7-8-7 22
Belplasca, RBT A,
FED, & Iloca 7-7-7 14 (alt 7/21)
RBT B 8-8-8 16 (alt 8/24)
RBT C 8-6-8 22
RBT S1 8-4-8 20
3D Discover 9-3-9 21
Dr. T. please correct me if I am wrong about the Realist 7perf
conversion format.
I like the 9 perf format, it is sort of like the "H" format in APS.
Since the left and right images have to be swapped, I would guess that the
photos woule be taken with color negative film, then printed as positives
with the reversed order. Also, the frame number gets printed at the right
side of the 3perf blank between images and shows up through a little cutout
in the viewer.
Note that in the above list, the last three formats have blanks
between the images.
