IR output re converting a VM to 750 watt halogen

Brief follow-up...
If IR is the only problem re installing a 750 watt lamp in a VM projector
then there is no problem. The added clearance of a halogen lamp will leave
plenty of room for a small hand fabricated bracket to hold added pieces
of heat absorbing glass in the VM. A question that comes up is a potential
loss of illumination on the screen from HAG, and what the trade off is vs.
a lamp with more horsepower.
Alas, I didn't save George's posts, so if there was followup re cheap
sources for HAG, please post to me off list and let me know. (I do know
how to use a glass cutter now! :)
Thanks!
Elliott
