Composing for window effects

It has been stated that the Realist has a built-in stereo window at 7
feet. However, in mounting slides we have some flexibility to place
objects in front of, at, or behind the window. Question: Given the
normal available horizontal adjustment range when mounting 5P chips in
standard 5P mounts, what are the limits of object placement flexibility?
In other words, I imagine that at some distance, Dn, an object would be
too close to be made to appear behind the window when the slide is
mounted. Similarly, at some point, Df, an object would be too far to
be made to appear in front of the window when the slide is viewed. Does
anyone know the values of Dn and Df?

Greater mounting flexibility appears possible when mounting 5P
chips in 4P mounts. What are the values of Dn and Df in this case?

Thanks,
Paul Talbot
