Kodaslide 1 viewer conversion offered

I don't know if this makes the cut for photo-3d, but on the premise that
I'm offering a service, and also that it's often simpler and more
expeditious to apologize than ask permission...
Got one of those Kodaslide 1 viewers with the terrible plastic lenses
sitting in the closet? That's the fate of many of them after you get a Red
Button. Well it can be turned into something useful by the addition of
Wollensak acromat lenses and a frosted halogen lamp, available from George
Themelis for $37. Buy only the *Wollensak* acromats for this specific
conversion, not the Reveres. The Revere lenses are fine for other
applications, but not this one. (Order lenses and the lamp from: George
Themelis, 10243 Echo Hill Dr., Cleveland OH 44141)
Send me the viewer, the above mentioned Themelis parts, and a check for
$50 plus post for the labor, and I'll convert the lens system, enlarge the
metal carrier to 7P, upgrade the focusing rail, relube, and replace the
reflector. The smaller Wollensak lenses (20mm diameter vs 25mm in the
Kodaslide) is somewhat compensated by the 47mm Wollensak focal length.
I can offer testimonials from people I've done this for. In my opinion,
you end up with a better viewer than a Red Button (which also has 20mm
lenses).
Email me offlist for details.
