Hyakutake was much closer to earth, so I would guess that it's motion
relative to the starfield is much greater. Apparently, if Hale-Bopp
were as close as Hyakutake, it would be much brighter than a full moon!
Sorry, no number though.
One item I forget. Because of H-B's inclination, the farther north you
are, the longer it is visible in total darkness. Normally, northern
latitudes never get to see anything well :-)
