Re: Cutting and mounting

Since I started this thread with my wild claims about the virtues of the
Realist cutter, and it seems to have continued on for awhile, I propose
the following for those attending NSA...

We could perhaps get a group of people to bring their favorite
cutting/mounting system along. We can all set up around a room and do
concurrent demos while people wander around. I'm not talking Speed Racer
here, but a chance to let people see a number of approaches to a crucial
component of stereoscopy.

It could range from quick mounting for viewer use, to demonstrating the
more demanding techniques needed for projection. I'll be glad to set up
with the Realist cutter and a Seary heat mounter for dealing with
cardboard, which is what I use for snapshots.

We did something very similar a few months ago at the Puget Sound Stereo
Camera Club meeting, and it went over very well.

Any takers? Jon Golden and RBTs maybe? Someone with a Lutes cutter (you
lucky dog, you!).

If I hear from enough people, I'll pitch the idea to Phyllis...
