Well after reading that Alan finally revealed his Freeviewer's Assistant
project I was mildly surprised to find out what it entialed. The reason
being is because I had experimented with this setup awhile ago without
any knowledge from the book that Alan refers to. As it has been mentioned
on P3D numerous times, everything new has already been invented before.
I had stumbled across this idea, when I was trying to reverse engineer
the cyber-scope. This was a hood that went over a computer monitor and
reoriented stereo images that were on the screen to a panoramic format.
The images on the monitor were of course panoramic but were rotated
90 degrees on the monitor, thus the panoramic stereo pairs were in a
vertical orientation. The cyber-scope reoriented the images to the
horizontal format using a combination of mirrors. Anyways as I was trying
to figure out how this was accomplished I stumbled on to the fact that
using two mirrors, similiar to using only one side of a View-Magic
viewer, one could fuse stereo images that were presented as left and
right stereo pairs. As Alan also mentions I was a bit surprised that
the images would fuse because of the theoretical smaller image on one
side of the views. This was not the case and as Alan surmises, the extra
distance is negligable. The adjustable mirror that Alan mentions is an
excellent idea that hadn't occured to me, but then again I was doing it
free-hand as well as free-viewing. So I guess I was using the adjustable
mirror method without realizing it! ;-) In any case the idea didn't go
further than, that's pretty cool. Glad to see Alan has taken it to
fruition and hope I can get No.0002. Since Dr.T has put it so well,
I will use his own words and fill in the blanks below.

All I need to know now is how much money to send!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And, this time, I MUST GET THE No. 0002, i.e. the first "Freeviewer's
Assistant" shipped out of the Lewis' factory. Consider this a confirmed
order and don't let any OLD BEAR take it out of my hands! :)))))))
Thanks for your new offering and keep up the gooddd work!!!!!!!
