Gavin posts:
As if here in Chicago, you can't swing a dead cat without hitting a
bookbinder supply house!
But thanks for the info, Elliot. Next time I trip over one of the many
bookbinder supply houses that dot the urban landscape, I will ask them for
a bone.
Regards,
Gavin

Elliott responds:
But, mon ami, zer iz zee, how you say?, ze mailorder... no need to swing
le chat mort...
For example, item P162-8020, with a shipping weight of .1lb and a cost of
1.19 each (shipping ranging from $2.65 to $3.73 depending upon UPS zone)
Plastic Bone Folders: "Use this 8" long molded plastic bone folder to fold
book jackets, rub down tapes and laminating film, crease paper and
more..."
Demco Library Supply 1-800-356-1200
PO Box 7488
Madison WI 53707
Or, on the great and wonderful information highway:
Info@xxxxxxxxx
There more extensive catalogs of bookbinding adhesives and archival
materials available from Demco and other suppliers. I'd suggest anyone
heavily into paper products to get a full tilt catalog from a mailorder
house specializing in photographic and/or book restoration supplies,
because there are many products, such as adhesives, cleaners,
deacidification products, etc relating to safe repair, cleaning, and
archival storage of those stereoscope cards which haven't yet been
converted into mouse exhaust.
