2D to 3D conversion

Hei!
I'm not at all experienced in this, but if I were you, I would try
using some morphing program.
Run two instances of the program, side-by-side.
Make a copy of the image you want to convert.
Place one copy of the image in the left morphing program, and the other in
the right.
Create a morp-mesh on one of the two images, and copy it to the other image.
Then, by moving corresponding nodes in the morph-meshes closer or farther
appart,
you can create depth in the resulting stereo pair.
Remember, only move the nodes horizontally.( you knew that.. :-)
Of course, doing this without being able to watch the stereo image while you
work
is difficult. Maybe you can crossview, parallellview or use some device to
accomplish this.
Using Photoshop to move objects in/out first, then use morping to create
roundness may
be the way to go.
Finally, making a morping sequence starting with the original flat image and
ending with the 3D'fied image would make a COOL movie.
Also, making a morphing sequence from the left mesh to the right mesh, could
create
the inbetween images needed in lenticulars.
I must try this myself, let me know if you get info from other sources.
Trond
