Re: EMDE vs RBT

Someone mentioned that the prices for EMDE's didn't include AntiNewton
glass. Well Antinewton glass is supposedly not necessary if using EMDE
masks, because they were designed to keep the glass/film contact to a
minimum. With fold over EMDE masks, there is aluminum between the film
and the glass. RBTs hold the film against the glass, which makes Antinewton
glass almost necessary. This makes the EMDE system better, because
Antinewton glass can decrease the sharpness of the focus.

I know it is a mute point since EMDE masks are not being made now, and I
will probably use RBTs (for competitions) out of necessity in the future
(when I have used up my glass mounts). I'll probably even try using my
permamounts just for the nostalgia.:) I'll still probably use slip in
mounts or fold over paper mounts for my personal KII viewing.
