House of Wax in 3D

As part of a tribute to director Andre de Toth, the American
Cinematheque will screen "House of Wax" in 3D:
Thursday, April 17 - 17A/B - 7:15/9:45 PM
At Paramount Pictures - Screening Room #5 - 5555 Melrose Ave.
Double System 3-D!! HOUSE OF WAX, 1953, Warners, 88 min. "It comes off
the screen right at you!" screamed the HOUSE OF WAX publicity -- and de
Toth made sure it did, with his wicked blend of gothic horror and
in-your-face thrills (watch out for that paddle ball!) Vincent Price
stars as the mad sculptor who dips his models in hot wax, with help from
Charles Bronson, Phyllis Kirk and Carolyn Jones. We've brought in an
archival 3-D print for this screening in the original dual-system
format, with two projectors running simultaneously (note: brief pause
between each reel.) Discussion following with Andre de Toth.
