4 of my 6 3-D friends here are same as you.
They've never been able to see 3-D pictures in cross-eyed way.
But 2 of the 4 friends can see big 3-D pictures(over 5 inch width) 
in parallel free-viewing very easily.

I can see until 2.4 inch width pictures in parallel way.
I can see any big images in cross-eyed tech, but I prefer
parallel free viewing if possible.
