I clearly recall *vendors* advertising monitors as non-interlace
or "NI" - don't recall at the moment hearing of manufacturers using
that term.

My impression had always been what you described - a "non-interlace" monitor
is one which is sufficiently good that it doesn't *have* to run in interlace
mode at the specified resolution. No mention of there being a problem if it's
fed an interlaced signal.

Didn't *somebody* on this list keep the timing data that came with their
monitor? :-)
