Anaglyph configuration

I have a nice pair of glass Bauch and Lombs, left over from the old
anaglyphic aerial mapping days. Red left, cyan right. The only improvement I
could imagine being made would be if they were dichroic. 
Now I'm asked to go to Wendy's so I can instead use some cheapo cellophane.
It's a contrived marketing ploy, and it pisses me off. I see no other reason
for the de-evolution of what has long ago become a standard. Should we next
