Since this tread related to Digest 1979 (April 4), no further
information came up, until now.
But first, let me refresh memory:

To my understanding it isn't possible to make an MPEG or Quicktime
movie which would be compatible with field sequential (Liquid Crystal)
glasses.
The problem relates to the fact that a left and right image stream
must be reproduced separately and distinctly and not be mixed.
For LC glasses, this would involve either (1) interlacing the image
stream
(i.e. odd and even lines in the image are from the left and right
image) or (2) using alternate images as left and right image.
MPEG and Quicktime would probably be too slow for (2) to work
successfully.
With regards to method (1) the nature of the compression used in MPEG
and
Quicktime would mean that alternate lines would be somewhat mishmashed
together therefore left and right images would be mixed (separation
would be lost).

Similar comments was also put forward by Greg Marshall in Digest 1982.
Just a few days ago I came across the website of
(AIS) Advanced Intelligence Systems Co. Ltd.(Kr)
http://chaos.ais.co.kr/index.html
AIS claim they do web construction using a 3D Video Server.
They have many examples of 3D movies made for MPEG, MPEG2, AVI format
and Anaglyphic mode. Some of the movies eats up to 30MB of storage
memory. I downloaded a smaller version 2MB anaglyphic movie(colour
anaglyphic), works with InterVU MPEG viewer. The short movie showed an
ordinary street scene with no apparent problems regarding synch, and
motion within the scene looked real time in playback mode.
They only use anaglyphic means or LCS-glasses alternate field Video.
For those who are able to connect with LCS-glasses, I would like to ask
some feedback regarding the problems Andrew Wood and George Marchall
mentioned before.
AIS site also have a live 3D "underwater" webcam that refresh every 60
sec., viewable for LCS-glasses only!
