3DDDTV-Night 2

It's interesting that some people are getting reasonably good effects while
others (like me) have horrendous ghosting. I suspect it might be different
formulations of the RGB phosphors in the CRTs which account for the difference.
Tonight I taped onto VHS (SP) Drew Carey and Ellen (I know, it would have been
much better to use SVHS but I don't have a machine here for that). I ran some
sequences several times and was never able to reduce the ghosting down to an
acceptable level regardless of the settings.
As for content...
I thought that the D.C. show hit the right balance - lots of humor on the "put on
glasses now" messages, and integrating the segments into the show as opposed
to just sticking them in for a few seconds at the beginning like Spin City and
Ellen. (I particularly liked when he appeared to be getting ready to throw up
towards the camera and they said essentially "We're not going to show you that!")
I was kind of disappointed because I could have sworn that I'd seen a very short
clip somewhere of a 3d version of "Five O'Clock World" but the old opening
was used instead. Did I just dream that?
I didn't even bother to put the glasses on for the Joan Jett bit on Ellen.
