Kodak now MOUNTING Realist stereo slides

Am I the only person on the list who didn't know that Kodak will
_mount_ Realist format stereo slides? I don't remember anyone mentioning
it here before.

I just got back a roll of Kodachrome from my local lab. Like most
labs he doesn't have the chemistry to do Kodachrome, so he sent the roll
off to, he said, Kodak. To his surprise and my amazement the roll came
back cut and mounted in cardboard mounts. Nicely done. No
pseudo-stereos. Nothing in backwards.

Cost for developing and mounting 27 views came to a bit over $15,
with the marginal cost of mounting working out to about 31 cents per
pair. (I suspect this lab has quite a bit of mark up for send outs.)
Not great, but not terrible -- except this was Helena's first outing with
the Kodak Stereo camera, and she mostly forgot about adjusting the focus,
so 20 of the 27 views are scenic vistas focused at 4 feet.

Cheers,
