I agree with Bill that viewers are not designed very well...

Actually, there is an adapter that you put in the viewer and it will
accept Realist format slides. Still, it is non-illuminated and it does
not have achromatic lenses.

None comes in mind right now. The TDC (not the Vivid) comes close,
except for the lenses (single element) I have one and will try to
change the lenses to Wollensak or something. Then thre is the Sterling
700 with the individually focusing lenses. These are single element
too. I tried to change them but did not work out.
