I used a product called Navigator (Not Netscape), distributed by General
Electric, as an option with their CT scanners. Actually, it runs on a Sun
workstation networked to the CT scanner.

Yes I have generated stereo pairs using this method. On a case where we
were studying the bronchial airways, I was working on a "fly through" of
the trachea. I had the point of view high up in the trachea, looking down
the trachea at the bifurcation. Instead of advancing further down, I moved
the point of view laterally and generated a second image at the same level.
When viewed side by side, these two images formed a great stereo pair,
with lots of depth.
