Pirates: Sea World of Ohio goes 3-D!!!

Sea World of Ohio now features a new 3-D PLUS Movie Adventure
attraction, Pirates in its new 900-seat theater. This information
is from Plain Dealers review that appeared on Friday May 9th.

Reporter Sheila Simmons writes: The technological advances in 3-D
films first catch your attention. I expected Sea World to hand me
those ill-fitting, cardboard-framed glasses with one cellophane red
eye and one blue. Instead, I am given slick plastic ones... with
clear brown plastic lenses. I knew the film would inspire in me the
desire to reach out and grab objects seemingly jutting from the
screen. But I also expected the film to be plagued with 3-Ds usual
blurry, disconnected visuals, giving me a headache. But Pirates
boasts crisp visuals, surprisingly full-dimensioned human figures and
colors so vivid the experience reminds you just how deficient other
film is in capturing the multihued colors of such objects as leaves.

Ms. Simmons description nicely reflects the wrong public impression of
3-D as an anaglyph and headache-producing afair. From the description
of the glasses in appears that the movie is in polarized form. The
film runs on a pair of 70 mm films and it is projected on a 60x28 feet
screen. Some parts are computer generated.

It should be a great experience. Dont miss it! (I know I wont!)

Sea World of Ohio (1-800-63-SHAMU) is in Aurora OH. Price of the show
is included in the regular tickets. "Pirates" is 15 minutes and 32
seconds and runs three times per hour.
