ABC 3d week

I taped the 4 hours of programs listed on the ABC web page. Then I
transfered the 3-d segments to 8mm. Guess what -the total time transferred
was 12 minutes!

The quality is just fine -no smearing or loss of anaglyph effect.

I started work on a twin Olympus XA-2 setup using the Holgon potato-masher
type flash sold by Porter's for about $50. It turns out that the length of
the slot on the bar is exactly the right length to mount the two cameras
with 1/8" between them. This makes for a nice handling setup and the flash
is far enough away to avoid red eye.

I got the sliding cover off one camera just with a fingernail and by
rotating it over the rewind knob and off. A roller pin drops out so you
have to catch it. Next comes the screws to remove the top and get at the
shutter and flash wiring. I think the flash contacts should be wired in
series to make sure that both shutters are fully open. The shutter releases
are wired in parallel so you can use either one.

By not winding one camera you can take in 2d to save film.

With the twin rig you can use slide film and mount in RBT 7perf mounts, or
use negative film and view the prints with a ViewMagic or scan them for the
internet WEB.
