I've tested lots of cameras and all I got was this t-shirt

        And you'd be right...but that does not mean that I do not
understand what a sharp image looks like, and how (ideally) a camera should
perform.

        I "tested" all of these cameras in the field, where they should be,
under a variety of situations reflecting normal picture-making conditions.
I also compare the same scene made handheld and on a tri-pod (w/cable
release), again, to reflect the many situations under which the camera will
be used.  There is NOTHING worse than not knowing what quality you will end
up with with a given camera, therefore I always give each new aquisition a
complete "test" before ever making any real pictures with it.  I do not
want any surprises.

        I'm sure their quality control was very good, but this does not
make them exempt from poor lens alignment and infinity settings.  Leitz
could be considered the benchmark for quality control in many eyes, but I
have found problems with their equipment as well (just far fewer times ;-).


        Whoever made the camera, few could not benefit from a good
re-adjustment...especially when it comes to the infinity setting.
