I can't help but comment on this. I have a Kodak I bought from Dr. T some
time back. It was in excellent conditon. I have run a several dozens of
rolls thru it with truly pleasing results. I really can't understand why I
would want anything else. Having said that, I must admit that my experience
is limited to this camera alone (for antique stereo cameras, that is).

Just for fun, I bought a Kodak with a sitcky shutter a while back. They are
easy to take apart and lube. I used some graphite dispersed in lighter
fluid. OK so far...

Now granted, I don't think I would expect the camera to survive using it as
a mace in a bar room brawl, but I hope by this point in my life I have
learned how to avoid them.

I always wind all my cameras immediately after taking a picture. Just a
habit. If it wears out springs, then it hasn't happened to me yet.
